William Lauricella, 13 years old, started taking piano lessons at age 5. William began competing in piano competitions a year ago. He won first place in both the 2018 Schenectady Symphony Louise DeFeo Parillo Concerto Competition and the 2018 Tchaikovsky Music Competition at the New Russia Cultural Center. William participates yearly in the NYSSMA competitions and NYSMTA piano performance evaluations and was invited to perform at the 2018 and 2017 NYSMTA Awards Recitals. William studies piano with Joseph Fennimore. Previous piano teachers include Gordon Hibberd and Doug Esmond.

In addition to playing piano, William enjoys playing percussion with the Empire State Youth Orchestra’s Repertory Percussion Ensemble and the ESYO Repertory Orchestra. He is currently studying with Richard Albagli and has previously studied with Gen Vitale.

William like to compose music, play golf, and run on his school’s cross country team. He also enjoys participating in his school’s songwriting club and being a member of his Boy Scout Troop.
